(three ways you’re fucking it up)

Let’s start with health

Look, I get it. It seems like everyone on earth is shouting from a megaphone “Just do this! and …” (promised result).

“EAT ONLY VEGETABLES”

“EAT ONLY MEAT”

“EAT ONLY FAT”

The problem is, they’re all working in reverse. Let me make this super fucking clear:

Healthy body composition, beautiful skin and lean/trim sides do not come from adding N-E-THING

(one more time for my obsessive supplement takers)

STOP ADDING SHIT

After a decade and a half of studying and practicing Health Science, teaching, coaching and training, here’s the fifteen year secret. You ready?

1 Eat only what your energy level demands

2 Drink good water ( no sugar beverages )

3 Eat only what makes you feel good

THAT. IS. SERIOUSLY. IT.

Energy is Glucose, aka sugar (calm down KETO friends, I know you’re all jacked on BHB). But, if you eat more than two apples and a slice of bread each day, you run on glucose (some combination of carbs and sugar). Think of your stomach like a gas tank.

How many miles do you drive each day? How fast? How hard?

If you’re a sprint athlete, add A LOT of fuel to your tank. I don’t care if this is a slurpee, a steak and potatoes after a thousand burpees, or a three pack of vanilla zingers following a few hours of basketball (guilty pleasure).

WHY?

Following that intense workout, your body is in a state of heavy glucose depletion (aka all that blood sugar in the tank is low). Your body only stores two to three thousand calories in the form of glucose. When it’s gone … feed it.

NOW

Most of you are NOT sprint athletes. So whats your strategy? You ready?? Stop eating glucose. Please, for god’s sake, listen to me. If you work at a desk all day and picking up your beer coozy, or your kid at the end of the day is as much physical energy as you’re expending:

YOU HAVEN’T EARNED CARBS

Yes, I know your brain runs on carbs. No, not that many. Stop eating. Empty the goddam tank. Then refill it. Fuck I wish i could make this simpler. Ok … imagine you fill your gas tank every Monday, no matter what.

It’s Sunday night. You were sick all week. You never left the house. You never used any fuel. Do you go to the gas station anyway?

EXCESS ENERGY IS THE FUCKING PROBLEM

Brain health is predominantly good hydration + good sleep.

Body health is all about short term energy storage + expenditure.

Long term storage KILLS

My whole life I’ve been asked “how do I get abs like you?” You ready?

“I only eat when I’m on empty”.

(read that again)

Delayed gratification. My favorite part? Food tastes SO GODDAM GOOD when you delay gratification. Mmmm … trust me. And so does elevating your sex game. But we’ll get there.

So what about posture?
